Secondary (12-14) Lesson Plans

The secondary section of Schools PDSA supports themes from the Science, Citizenship, English, History and Media Studies curricula.

There are three very distinct areas, all devised for students aged 12-14, although gifted students and GSCE candidates might find the projects useful as revision or for portfolio work.

Science in Action explores how PDSA veterinary teams use science in their work, and indicates some possible career paths for the future.

Media at Work challenges students to participate in a practical media exercise whilst investigating how PDSA radio and television advertising is produced.

Animals in War is for history students and provides evidence and digital resources to help students research PDSA’s fascinating history.

Students can work their way through each of the activities in their own time. Not all work is online as students are encouraged to investigate offline and use downloadable resources to help them complete written projects.

Each area is supported by simple lesson plan suggestions and a useful, short PowerPoint presentation to help you introduce PDSA and its work.
