They are all recipients of the PDSA Dickin Medal, awarded to animals for bravery in war.
The medal is named after Maria Dickin, CBE, founder of PDSA. She is one of the most important individuals in the history of animal welfare.
In this project you will uncover Maria's past and learn more about PDSA's work.
Before you start, download the Animals in War Project Pack to your computer. It is a ready-made Word document for you to use as your research base. Use it to create your own collection of information about the use of animals in war time - and then consider how we use animals today.
