PDSA is the UK's leading veterinary charity caring for the pets of people in need. We provide free veterinary treatment to more than 4,650 sick and injured animals every working day and we promote responsible pet ownership.
Schools PDSA is an educational website supporting classroom and homework projects.
The key objective of the site is to help children understand the importance of responsible pet care, through curriculum based subjects. Under UK law children cannot own pets, only an adult can have this responsibility. Children can be classed as carers and as such must ensure that the animals in their care are looked after properly.
Your child may be asked to look at the site at home and we can assure you it is safe and educationally accredited.
If you would like more information about PDSA, the topics included in this site, tips on responsible pet care - or would like to support PDSA's work - please visit the Young PDSA website. This will also link you to the main PDSA website.
PDSA has an active youth supporter base divided into under and over 13's.
Younger children can join Pet Protectors, our club for animal-mad young people. Groups such as Brownies or school classes can also join! Call 0800 019 9144 or email petprotectors@pdsa.org.uk for more information or click here to join online!
Older children can become PetAid Challengers and work their way through a series of fundraising and pet health challenges, email petaidchallenge@pdsa.org.uk or freephone 0800 854194 for a free challenge pack.
If you are interested in supporting PDSA, PDSA Best Friends is the charity's special club for grown-up animal lovers. Best Friends support our work with a small monthly gift and the donations go straight to help us treat more sick and injured pets.
